Today is the International Women's Day and the theme of the year is #BeBoldForChange. "You Are the Problem Here" isn't a typical First Aid Kit-song. It's angry and direct. It's a song written out of despair. After reading about yet another rape case where the perpetrator was handed a sentence which did not at all reflect the severity of his crime we felt upset and vengeful. We were, and are, sick of living in a society where the victims of rape are often blamed for the horrible thing that has been done to them. Our message is clear and should not be controversial in the least: if you rape, you are the problem. Alcohol is not the problem. So called "youth culture" is not the problem. You are. And you always have a choice.

"You are the Problem Here" is available now: http://smarturl.it/YouAreTheProblemHere?iqid=pseudo

First Aid Kit is donating all their proceeds from this song to Women for Women International: http://www.womenforwomen.org

The only problem I have with the song is that it was written by two women who support the refugees doing the vast majority of rape in their own country. You only care about virtue signalling, not actually helping real rape victims.

Damn straight. The word "excuse" doesn't get to exist in a perpetrator's rhetoric. I'm a middle-aged, rural-located, moderate male and—though I'm not a violent man—I'd be willing to break away from that so to beat some sense into any young or old man out there who thinks any uninvited sexual advancements are somehow okay.

"And I hope you fucking suffer"What about "Hate the sin. Love the sinner."? Everyone can fuck up. How will hating on someone who is sincerely sorry for their actions make the world a better place?

Well done girls , song is a big departure i will reserve judgement on that but the sentiment is correct , rape is definitely very wrong as is any kind of sexual assault , maybe better to donate the proceeds from Stay Gold to Women for Women International? or something bit bigger than just the one song , this topic needs to be highlighted but don't get too political on us not sure a "heavier" sound suits just my opinion

Lol. Yes, thank you for teaching us that if you rape, you are the problem. Clearly opinions on this issue are very divided. I love how feminists choose to protest things that are hardly disputed anymore, creating fake "rape culture" narratives (all the while enthusiastically ignoring Islam, an actual rape culture).
