@LiamAndrew11 You obviously haven't heard their last album, or their first album. Chino is a great singer but for a long time he was doing massive amounts of drugs and drinking himself sick. The early material proves he can sing, Diamond Eyes proves that he's still capable of it without all the shit. Musicians should kick the shit!

@LordAkaneon Im not even a huge fan of eddie, yet I know he should be in alot of peoples top 10 singers list. Ive listened to Deftones since I was literally about 9 years old.. I love them. But fact... Chino can't "sing". he can squeel, roar and has his own voice. But as a vocalist he can't stand toe to toe with f.ex charlie... Im not flaming. Just sendin a message about a few of the songs. I like fightstar! But tell me, in all honesty. Does this sound like Deftones to you? Or a college song?

Furthermore, successful bands in the US get pigeon-holed and told to scrap songs or change them by their labels, radio execs, etc. Canadian and UK bands don't have to deal with as much of that, otherwise Canada would only have Nickelback and the UK would lose over half of their bands (The Strokes, Muse, H.I.M., et al who are Platinum internationally but only known to most US fans via Rock Band).

The best part of Fightstar is their uncompromising ability to make whatever music they want. Busted broke up because there was no flexibility, no leeway for creativity, no space to move around. Pearl Jam is a boring band for that reason - Compare them to any other band, especially in the super-creative Seattle scene... look at Soundgarden/Cornell. You want a top 10 vocalist? Eddie Vedder can't hold Cornell's jock strap.

@LiamAndrew11 Yes, we get it. Shouldn't you be posting comments on their songs and sharing their videos, or is it more appealing to you to berate Fightstar and their fans ala typical YouTube flamewar nonsense initiation? Yes, Fightstar sounds like the Deftones. The Deftones are their primary influence - It's all over their music. I love the Deftones so I have no problem with that. Eddie Vedder is nowhere close to being in most people's top 10 singer lists.

@LiamAndrew11 f. x this song sounds like something blink 182 would make. Compare it to domocles? Sure it's best to vary your music, but this song just reminds me of something you'd hear at a "break up moment" in O.C or something... Doesn't seem too deep or as if the music and lyrics/vocal are truly blended by the core feeling and meaning of the song. But ey, not all music nowadays is artistic I know... Gotta sell the product

@LiamAndrew11 And if your an american yourself I hope you can see that Eddie Vedder is one of the better vocalists and song writers to come out of America during the past years? The songs I have on youtube apart from gypsy song are covers I made to keep a few friend fans happy, but I'm currently working on originals in serious quality. A few inspired by some american genres. You can't help being inspired somewhat by the music you hear. I just find 40% of FS' own songs too alike other pop songs

@ASeasonInDecay Hey man :) Thanks for answering my post with maturity! Rare find on YT. But since I'm not a huge fan of the dying screamo scene I'm not familiar with the names, I usually listen to a couple of songs and erase whatever damage the bands have done to me. But if i recall Fightstar did a small tour with a few of them? Think it was under kerrang? I myself would never share a stage with bands I found talentless and more a product than musicians...

@LordAkaneon Oasis are one of the past 20 years most succesful and respected (apart from Liam Gallaghers attitude ofcourse) rock bands to come out of England? So I'm not quite sure where your point is coming from. Plus sticking to English roots doesn't mean sounding like Oasis. I'm talking accents and all around feel of the song. I am the message to me just sounds like any American pop rock band trying to make it big

@LiamAndrew11 What screamo bands from the US does Fightstar sound like? I must say I totally disagree, they are doing the music they love. But..opinions are like assholes I guess. Speaking of sticking to British roots... don't you have a song on your page where you're covering Eddie Vedder? He's American as far as I know, does he influence you? Just making a friendly observation.

Baaah, fightstar and charlie himself have so much potential that imo is goin to waste. Theyve made so many good songs, but 60% of them ya can hear have been inspired either by the states shitty screamo and poppy bands or Deftones, Nirvana or tool. Still great songs some of them but it sounds just like their faves. I reckon they should just take more time instead of spewing these songs out and stick to the britsh roots and come up with something truly unique.
