The song is credited to Dorothy Fields and Jimmy McHugh. For all I know, Fields did write the lyrics, but it's generally acknowledged these days that the music was actually written by Waller, who then sold it to McHugh. Personally, I'd feel kind of sleazy taking credit for it . . .
