Parallels (1991, reissued and expanded 2010)

Parallels is the sixth studio album by progressive metal band Fates Warning, released in November 1991 through Metal Blade Records. It has sold over 150,000 copies due to the success of the singles "Eye to Eye", "Point of View", and "We Only Say Goodbye". James LaBrie performs harmony vocals on the song Life in Still Water due to Ray Alder having to leave Toronto and not having time to finish with the backing vocals. Terry Brown came up with the idea of bringing LaBrie in as he had just joined Dream Theater and had a similar style On March 16, 2010 Metal Blade Records released a special edition of Parallels. The special edition included remastered audio of the original album, live and demo tracks, and a DVD.

James LaBrie, the lead singer for Dream Theater, is a guest artist on "Life in Still Water."

In the liner notes the band thanks "Dream Theatre". Dream Theater, who find this common misspelling annoying, jokingly thank "Fatez Warning" in the liner notes for their album Images and Words.
