Eh, perhaps, though "Rome" isn't exactly different from any other examples of how popular culture has helped to better expose people to certain people, places, and events in history, even if the representation isn't always accurate. I'm pretty well versed in Roman history as a whole, but I won't claim to be an expert in any one subject, including info on any one legion such as this. I never really knew about the Romanian part of the XIIIth history, I'll admit that.

I won't doubt your facts, but the XIIIth legion did have other key stories to it, that helped make it a legend in Roman history. For instance, they were one of the key legions during Julius Ceasar's campaign in Gaul, as well as the one he took with him on his famous crossing of the Rubicon river. Coming from a fan of HBO's "Rome", I know the show doesn't give an accurate depiction of th legion (Pullo and Vorenus never actually being members of it), but there are other reasons why its well known
