Probably the best story I have is being with him at the 40th Ann. Monterey Pop Festival...kind of awful and corporate, no people smoking joints much less tripping balls. ""The Doors"" were playing, ahem, at least Robbie and Ray were, with random drummer and the singer from Fuel doing an awful Morrison impersonation the whole time, leather pants and all. I wasn't trying to say anything, but Sky got up after the set and just said, "well, that was disappointing, wasn't it?" Haha...love ya, Sky...

@hobosandbuttmonkeys Sky was an awesome person, truly, and not one person left that bus unchanged by the experience. It's funny, now, to think back when the whole bus thought his 'hit' was 'Time Of The Season' - for awhile even we didn't know, and we were his backing band and crew! But finding those old songs, playing them with him, seeing the primordial stuff of which so much of the music I love was made...indescribable. Underground to the day he died...and maybe, you know, that's ok.

@thomasmantellwilliam Sky didn't see dime one from that commercial - I was friends with him at the time. Just like Paul/Ringo don't see royalties from the Beatles, because the rights were signed away back before most people knew what kind of racketeers they were dealing with.
