Filipina-Mexican singer Jessica Sanchez bounced back in her Top 10 performance Thursday (Manila time), earning a standing ovation from the audience and the three judges of American Idol.
Sanchez wowed the crowd with her rendition of Billy Joel's "Everybody Has A Dream" on the tribute performance for the legendary singer-songwriter.
Sanchez gave a sultry, soulful rendition of the 1977 hit, belting out the last note to the approval of judges Steve Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson.
"You've gone way past my judging," Tyler told Sanchez, whom he had earlier predicted might be "the one" to win the competition this year.
Lopez said that the song seemed to have been written for Sanchez and called it the contestant's defining moment.
Jackson also lauded Sanchez, observing how every time she steps on stage she always gets her moment. - interaksyon.com
