This is from Nightlife with David Brenner. Billy Preston was the musical director for that show. Lou Marini on sax. Does anyone know the other musicians and/or house band members?

All I have to say is that Eric is so yummy here that I wish I could have met him and sang with him! I forgot how much I love this song....what a great live performance. Nice shirt Mr. Clapton.

Thanks for posting. It's often overlooked what a great singer he is because he's so revered for his guitar playing. A great upbeat piece of music.

Yes, that's Billy Preston. He was musical director of the show, like Paul Shaffer to David Letterman.

29 Oct 1986 on Nightlife with David Brenner. EC spoke about his heroin addition but claimed he had it under control. Billy Preston on keyboards. This was the launch of another comeback, which he discussed. Finished with I Shot the Sheriff at David's request. I taped this live.

@LseSmith45 - The horn player on the left is the guy from Saturday Night Live & The Blues Brothers. His name is "Blue" Lou Marini. Judging by the set and audience I'm guessing this was a Saturday Night Live performance, thou Blue Lou was no longer with the house band when this song was released in 86.
