Despite my own lack of religion (don't worry, I also don't oppose any unless it's shoved in my face), I've got to say this has always been one of my favorites as far as the sound of the human voice is concerned. And the song itself is quite inspiring, very moving. And yes, I went through the trouble of translating it. :)

Pour le Québec libre, je trouve dommage que cela ne se soit pas réalisé en 1980, lors du premier référendum. Ç'aurait été le moment idéal. Mais au moins, aujourd'hui, le Québec est reconnu comme étant une nation au sein de la fédération canadienne.

Le gaélique irlandais est une langue celtique en effet, tout comme le breton il me semble. Bien que cette catégorie de langues ne fasse pas partie des langues dans lesquelles je veux me spécialiser, je m'intéresse aux langues et je trouve bien intéressante la description que vous faites du gaélique irlandais. Cette chanson est une prière je crois, une traduction de celle-ci en anglais est facile à trouver sur internet.

Gros merci! Je vis à Quimper (Kemper en breton),à côté, dans un petit village, paumé. Ha si la vie était autrement faite, une Bretagne libre avec un parlement et un rattachement de Nantes, un Quebec libre aussi pourquoi pas! Enya chante dans une langue celte, le gaélique d'Irlande, qui est d'une rare subtilité stylistique et d'écriture raffinée, les consonnes ne se prononcent presque jamais! Quelqu'un pourrait m'en dire plus sur cette chanson? Salutations

je suis breton et pour nous cette chanson a une résonnance particulière. Il semble que cette chanson reflète un instant de paix partagé comme une seule voix.

@IcyIce17 Ja, das würde ich auch sagen. Ich habe solche gefühle für färöisch, aber es ist nicht so mysticsh weil es so ähnlich wie deutsch und sogar englisch ist. Irisch ist wirklich was ganz anderes. Ich stamm aus neutschottland und es gibt schulen in der nähe von mir, in der ich irisch lernen kann. Ich soll es mal machen. Entshuldig, ich hoffe, dass mein deutsch nicht so schlimm ist.
