David Briggs convinced Elvis to re-record this song because he thought he could improve on his piano part. In the end though, the piano was buried in the mix and sounds no better, or worse, than the original version four years earlier.

This version when finished was ok, but I prefer the '66 version. More intimate and lovely, Elvis recorded it in the dark with only a candle or two lit in the studio. That's what it sounds like. This one doesn't have that magic.
