I saw a newspaper picture from the political campaignA woman was kissing a child, who was obviously in painShe spills with compassion, as that young child'sFace in her hands she gripsCan you imagine all that greed and avariceComing down on that child's lipsWell I hope I don't die too soonI pray the lord my soul to saveOh I'll be a good boy, I'm trying so hard to behaveBecause there's one thing I know, I'd like to liveLong enough to savorThat's when they finally put you in the groundI'll stand on your grave and tramp the dirt downWhen England was the whore of the worldMargaret was her madamAnd the future looked as bright and as clear asThe black tarmacadamWell I hope that she sleeps well at night, isn'tHaunted by every tiny detail'Cos when she held that lovely face in her handsAll she thought of was betrayalAnd now the cynical ones say that it all ends the same in the long runTry telling that to the desperate father who just squeezed the life from his only sonAnd how it's only voices in your head and dreams you never dreamtTry telling him the subtle difference between justice and contemptTry telling me she isn't angry with this pitiful discontentWhen they flaunt it in your face as you line up for punishmentAnd then expect you to say thank you straighten up, look proud and pleasedBecause you've only got the symptoms, you haven't got the whole diseaseJust like a schoolboy, whose head's like a tin-canFilled up with dreams then poured down the drainTry telling that to the boys on both sides, being blown to bits or beaten and maimedWho takes all the glory and none of the shame

Forget her, we need to tramp the phychopathic Cameron and all his toff millionaire chums in parliament down. This morally bankrupt party are undoing all the gains the WWII generation sacrificed their lives for. That was when we were genuinely "all in it together".

Cant forget her comment: "there's no such thing as society". Well, now there's no such thing as Margaret Thatcher. And I know which one I believe in...

What all those who whine that "she only got 43%" never realize is that given the choice between Thatcherism and Scargillism a good half of Liberal/Alliance voters would have gone with MT over the likes of Foot, Benn and Kinnock. Happily in my case.Blair made it safe for economically literate people to vote Labwhore.  Now that he has been drummed out Labwhore was back in 2010 to its 27% base-the same it got in 1983.

Ignoring the political context of this song, this song is such a unique piece. Its really wallowing in so much hatred. Great song... if a little negative.

It's a two party dictatorship. When they own the media and control it the way they do, they can easily manipulate the masses to follow along. That's how it worked in the 80's with Ronnie Raygun in the U.S., who was basically the male clone of Thatcher.

What we have is a fucked up system which is only ideal for a 2 party system. She only had the approval of 43% of the population, the rest hated her. But you can get a majority with that. So she could destroy the North, Scotland and Wales. In proportional system the government would have taken a little more care to avoid the catastrophe she perpetrated on many people.

I actually don't have much of a problem with the Falklands. What I hate is that if she wasn't acting maliciously with her economic policies then she was, at the very least, a shot-sighted fool. The privatization of many formerly public institutions gave an immediate boost to Britain's money flow but in the long term caused serious damage which we still haven't reversed thirty years of so later.

"Didn't want to hurt anyone" my arse. She didn't give a shit about anyone who couldn't make her money, like so many of her party members past and present.
