Wait, is this really ELP? Seems like the drummer's actually UNDERPLAYING here... And if that is Greg Lake through that vocal processing, then damn, his voice's changed a lot.

nah, you can't beat the original King Crimson version from '69. Lake's voice is different, and Robert Fripp had that certain sound. LOVE ELP to death though, have all their albums.

They don't do the famous break in the middle.

I like this one better than the original version from King Crimson.

ボーカル&ベースがオリジナルと同じ人なので、一瞬近いイメージに思ってしまうが、我に返ると全然別物。

Much appreciated. This is definitely one of Greg's most fun songs to play at unsafe volumes, whichever version you happen to be listening to. :)

Oh, it's them alright, and from that "Return Of The Manticore" boxed set, this being part of a "looking back" segment with remakes of songs they did before they formed ELP. The other covers were The Nice's "Hang On To A Dream" and Arthur Brown's "Fire". They originally considered this song to be part of their repertoire when they first formed, but Palmer couldn't tackle the unison breaks in the middle, so they unfortunately never got around to doing the song back then!

This recording is taken from the 4-CD boxset "The Return Of The Manticore" from 1993. For this boxset, ELP re-recorded 6 tracks, the: "Pictures At An Exhibition" and "I Believe In Father Christmas" (ELP), "Touch And Go" (Emerson, Lake & Powell), "Hang On To A Dream" (The Nice), "21st Century Schizoid Man" (King Crimson), "Fire" (The Crazy World of Arthur Brown).

I really like this version, but I have my doubts about this being ELP. Can you tell me where I would be able to find it in their discography, or otherwise let me know who really did this? This so far is my favorite version other than King Crimson's own.
