brilliant vocal performance from Elmore as usual. Sideman guitarist Eddie Taylor who is also performing here. did a just-as-good job with this excellent song on his very good 1973 I Feel So Bad album. Although Eddie Taylor, good as he was, could not sing like Elmore James.

"For the first session two guitarists, Wayne Bennett and Eddie Taylor, were added. What looked like a strong session on paper was even more so on the final recordings. With the guitarists using the same amp, the result was a raraucous and distorted sound, especially in the case of "Twelve Year Old Boy". The combination of Elmore's urgent singing, backed by the strident chords of the guitars and sax, with a particulary vicious sounding solo from Bennett, playing without the polish you'd expect from on of Bobby Bland's guitarist. This classic side proved highly saleable too, with London leasing it to the bigger operator Vee-Jay" ...Bennet play this solo??? sorry i asked, but i don't know english very well

This record has, by a country mile, the meanest, nastiest Rock guitar solo of the entire 1950s. I LOVE IT!!! Five stars. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Yes, Wayne Bennet and Eddie Taylor on guitar. That guitar solo, 1:30 2:07 is one of my favorite, is amazing, great and the final riff in 2:08 to 2: 17, ¿were you can hear somethin like that?. That is the 1957 version, much better than 1963 version.
