@quietus11 Yeah, I have that album. I definitely like her voice, and she was an important part to the band as a singer and lyricist. But she doesn't really seem to hit anything in an impressive range, and her voice, though I do like it, it wasn't totally unique, it just seems like she hit the notes she needed to, and that was it. That said I love Elis, and Sabine, and most of all I'm thankful that their music is avaible in The Unites States of Shit Music.

@kjvail I've realized I have mixed opinions about Anette. It honestly depends on my mood =P. She definitely does a fine job on the new songs though, even ones from Once that really weren't so operatic anyway. But Mary...GOD. Even if they didn't want a classical singer anymore, I'm sure they could have found better than HER.

Sandra sings very well, but I think that she is not so good when she sings the same songs that Sabine used to sing. Sandra is better when she sings the new songs. (Just my opinion!) Love you 4ever Sabine! ♥

And about the strength of her voice also - listen to "Sie Erfasst Mein Herz" and to "My Favorite Dream" (this one is by Lyriel). Especially the last - though it's a duet, in the chorus you really hear mostly Sabine. She had a phenomenally strong and clean voice.

If you think her voice wasn't strong - listen to Perfect Love or Rebirth. Yeah her voice is somewhat introverted (you can even hear it - it's never sounding fully wide open), but its not something that makes it worse or weaker. She had got a unique vibrato - listen to Black Angel or Ballade for example. And she is extremely versatile, from the bursting dramatical notes of Heart in Chains or Devil Inside You, to the crystal clear tranquility of something like Abendlied... So, she is great anyway.

oh i disagree with you lol... I think Sabine's voice really was phenomenal. Its not that I just think that because she passed away, she is now uncomparable with others and the best, it's vice versa, just because she was phenomenal, her death made me so sad. First, she seemed to really have two voices not one. One - an ordinary pop/rock singer's voice yes - but the other was something absolutely out of this world, able to combine strenght and tenderness and express any emotion.

I don't see what the big deal is, Sabine's voice wasn't phenomenal either. It's not like Tristania or Nightwish who had unique, world-class talent and replaced it with starstruck pop-singers who look like they were picked up from a trailer park during a USA tour.

C'moon you can't expect her to sing like Sabine, she has a good voice and imo she doesn't ruin the songs, though they're not written for her voice.
