I played this to my brother who had never heard Elbow before in his puff except 'the usual one about the curtains on the sunny day' but he hadn't known who that song was by. Anyway, after a fair old listen in the car, most of the way through, he goes 'That guy mustn't half like a bit of the old Peter Gabriel, eh'? And I was like 'Wow, he does sound a little bit like Peter Gabriel these days actually, holy F...'. See, to be clear, when we say Peter Gabriel, we don't mean 'Sledgehammer' Peter Gabriel. We mean 'Peter Gabriel Plays Live' album Peter Gabriel (great lp). My bro thought he was at it and meaning it but he didn't know that Elbow are a six album band these days and it's just how his voice may have changed a little bit and ended up. So yeh, Guy Garvey: not entirely unlike Peter Gabriel here. No bad thing. Not totally like him. Just a little bit. Loving the high notes. P.G. would do things like that as well. Great song and he sounds really, really good on it.

I love how thier songs just come together, start off quiet with piano, bit of drums then violins and altogether it just sounds amazing!! Going to see them in Cardiff on Tues cant wait! Been on here 2 hours just listening to their songs love them xx
