OMG. What a judgemental piece of pompousity! How about "a good song is a good song?" or perhaps, "I like it because I like it....?" "good, emotional, well-constructed songs...." Unfortunately, Coldsore and U2 fans have become attracted to Elbow since they started making anthems rather than good, emotional, well constructed songs. If you like a song from Elbow's amazing first 3 albums though, there's hope for you yet! Google Elbow's George lassoes the Moon, if you get that song, you will realise what vile dull filth the turgid bands you mention produce
