Moving moments... I love Edward Elgar and his Englishness. Love & light from Florianópolis, Brazil.

Nimrod is the most sublime music ever. I'm so proud that it came from my beloved country of England and the Edwardian period when we were a great nation. I'm so happy the whole world can enjoy and be moved, like this lovely Greek violinist lady.

Who could have thought that a Greek orchestra could produce such a moving rendition of an essentially British institution.

She cried because this group of Greek musicians is playing their last performance before it's disbanded !!

pathos in live performance, how moving and wonderful that these were Greek musicians, notably the lady so overcome, overwhemed, playing with such depth, beauty of tone and freedom of feeling, this elegiac masterpiece of English Elgar

I chose this piece to be played at my husband's funeral in 1992. He was only 49 years old. It still makes me weep when I hear it, not only for my loss but also because it's such a beautiful piece and can't fail to touch one's heart, especially when going through a difficult time emotionally. I hope this lady is alright, she showed great courage to not break down whilst playing.

It's truly beautiful...the famous soprano Birgit Nilsson was once so overwhelmed that she broke down sobbing and had to flee from the repetition of the Wagner piece she would sing in - she thought she would be dropped, times were different then. Look at this singers face in this aria, especially from 5:05 forward - she is known to have a fantastic love for classical music...Elena Obraztsova - Mon coeur s'ouvre a ta voix

There was a time when the English were said to be unemotional.Oddly this misconception was most prevalent when Parry, Elgar and Holst were writing some of the most moving music ever penned.

I cried when watching this, not because of this beautiful musician playing her last piece of music, but because of more and more countries in this world spending money on things that are so abominable that I can hardly mention them (money spent daily on amunition in wars around this world could keep orchestras like this functioning for years on end!), but find it "not feasible" to spend money on things that are really important....SAD!
