Much as I like Edie Brickell's singing and lyrics, singling her out is wrong. This started out as a band which she later joined. The band was and is exceptionally tight. The percussion is always interesting and Withrow's guitar playing has long been my favoroite part of the band. His mutron/Qtron solo was as much the reason for the success of What I Am as the vocal was.
