I encourage everyone to pass this band around to others. Their 1st album was released in 1998 almost exactly at the same time as Nightwish's 1st album and this band actually has produced MORE original content than NW. But people do not know this. Now we have NoWish apparently and who knows where that is going, yet bands like Edenbridge & Within Temptation have worked as as teams in producing their work and you can easily hear this in the music. Epica & Leaves Eyes as well.

TECHNICALLY since you're splitting hairs...THEY ARE BOTH PROGRESSIVE ROCK just as Dream Theater is.The metal movement happened after the rock one. The difference scholastically in music school is that rock is percussion oriented (DRUMS) and metal is string oriented (GUITARS and/or symphony string instruments). Rock also incorporates heavy keyboard focus such as Night Ranger and another great progressive rock band: ASIA.You either need to go to music school, OR ACTUALLY KNOW THESE PEOPLE as I do.

IF the music is really expensive like for ecample 40 $ for the CD s of Buckethead its okay to download them for like 8 $ I try to get people into Prog & Symphonic Metal since 2001 when i became a HUGE Fan of Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation, Symphony X these Bands changed my Listening approach for music especially Pain of Salvation, check their CD The Perfect Elmement its a REAL Masterpiece

The down load thing I have mixed feelings on. Its surely outta hand. But, here in the US where this music has been blacked out by the music cartel....the only way I had to get many of these bands exposed to people here was to either download & send them songs, or YT links. From there, most people went and BOUGHT a cd. That is how it should work to be fair to everyone. Im so glad youre studying & learnig! Its a huge joy for me to have people actually discover this talent & these bands.

Yes i really do enjoy the music of Angra / Edenbridge / Seventh Wonder & others And i am never THAT serious when i argue about music genres, i just want to learn Thanks to you, i now know that this type of music is Symphonic Metal Music is my No. 1 Hobby i love to spend money on CD s and going to Live concerts i cannot think of anything better to spent my Time Its sad that people download music for free

Its no hard feelings.Since dealing with this Ive found that many wrong understandings exist just simply because of language barriers and some words/descriptions not translating properly.I have managed to establish myself as a friend to many of these artists and you wouldnt believe some of my emails. Its because I try to give an accurate and descriptive explaination of things involving the industry. That photo of me is with Mark Jansen/EPICA one of my best friends in music. Just enjoy their work.

Aha okay maybe i am wrong with my definition of Power Metal since i am relatively new to the genre For me Power Metal sounds like a mix of Thrash Metal and Neo Classical Metal & Heavy Metal with more Keyboards and Special drum rythem they seem to use a lot I started in 1999 by listening to Dream Theater, since 2003 Symphony X, Pain of Salvation, For me Symphony X & Angra is Progressive Power Metal

That may be a good point,at least I can see its merit. I'm still not getting your power metal labeling of Stratovarius.Power metal is PERCUSSION oriented.Some prime examples: ACDC, HAMMERFALL,ACCEPT, AND SABATON.Stratovarious is a symphonic/progressive blend. Sometimes the "power" word is only tossed in because its an "impress the guys", thing especially before these new genres caught on. But now everyones past that and the stigma of; "progressive" or "symphonic" is now aceptable identification.
