When I was in the military in the late 1960s, I used to listen to Eddie's songs all the time when I was in the barracks. Most other guys listened to rock. They used to ask me, "Why do you listen to Country music?" To answer them, I'd put an Eddie Arnold album onto my turntable, and play this song or my other favorite one..."Make the World Go Away." Everyone would admit that those were nice songs. Eddie had such a unique voice, and I admire his faith. If by God's grace I make it to heaven, I hope I meet Eddie there on the streets of gold and tell him how much joy he brought to me with that amazing voice.

Nice version ---- but IMO Timi's version is better: more passionate, more projection.

I didn't realize this was such a short song at only 2-1/2 minutes. Every second of it is powerful, though. I think it's a better song than his "signature" song with a similar theme, "Make the World Go Away."

I'm 17 and I love Eddy Arnold. None of my friends have heard of him lol and give me weird looks, even some of my "Real" Redneck and country friends don't know him. Shame... Eddy Arnold you were a beast, and still are. RIP
