Damon Reece pays a great tribute to the late Pete De Freitas in this song... I read on a magazine that he tried to emulate Pete´s drumming while recording this album, but he admited he failed miserably...... Anyway....he is also a good drummer.

Echo without Ian isnt the same . But this album is very very good , eventhought that Burke´s not the best singer out there.. but the melodies, the music, the atmosphere that builds the songs is amazing . This is the most psychedelic work by echo and the bunnymen

Good musically but don't care for Noel's vocals.

I always considered this one of their best, even without Mac. Sensational songwriting. I saw them in Buffalo with Noel and they just killed it. This Album has multiple hits that never became hits. They should be damn proud of this release.

How do you know about Noel being in St Vitus Dance? Do you know & him and see him around, is he still in Liverpool ? I served as a bass player in St Vitus Dance for a while before he joined the Bunnymen. He was a very cool individual i spent a fair bit of time in his company during the time in the band. Well done Noel

i cant put into words how good this song is, the extended version is even better the sounds have more different layers in it. 3.04 on the extended version from that time the sound of the sitar if you listen, blows minds, all the different sounds that are collaborated together.

Heh, I also have this on cassette. I believe it is residing in my mothers' basement somewhere. Not the same as the Macca stuff, but a decent listen nonetheless.

I still listen to it and love it! This is my first Bunnymen album. I got it after listening to the awesome soundtrack for Pretty in Pink. I think Ian and Noel both have great voices. This album never got the credit it deserved.

Sorry, but this has a feeling of trying to be Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets, etc, and failing abjectly. 2/10

Steve Jobs said that when something is immediately liked by the mainstream that's fashion. But when something beautiful takes time to understand and distinguish that's art. This band fits' the theory. Fashion goes out of style but art stands the test of time. This is one of the best albums ever. Unfortunately it wasnt marketed enough, or given enough of a chance so that people would see and distinguish how solid it is. Too many people trying to make a quick buck with fashion.Art suffers

It's called "TACTICAL STUPIDITY". When Brian Jones was tossed out of the Rolling Stones, was it still THE ROLLING STONES?!!! When Ringo quit the Beatles, was it still the Beatles? You can't have history with someone or something, like your father, and then willing accept his replacement STEP DAD. Same with MAC. They should have changed the name of the group. Reverberation was a terrific LP with a sightly different sound. With a new name it could have had larger impact.

Yeah, every song on this album is very good. Which is rare for any band. I'm not sure either why it gets dissed so much.

Critics unfairly maligned and killed this album. They kept salivating and whining all over IanMc for some reason. The album is lyrically, musically and vocally strong. Reading the previous comments, looks like I am not the only one still listening to this album after almost 20 years!
