Taking nothing from Queen Pen's fantastic use of this sample, as a jock going 26 years now; I still fault hip-hop as a genre and whoever it's true Leaders ( if such a thing exists ) are, for building it on the backs of artists such as EWF. These guys went into the studio with an IDEA. Through conversations about time, tone, scale, not to mention lyrical CONTENT! Hip-hops backbone ( I searched for a better term but...) is music that we have all heard before. I'll play it because it's PRODUCT, in this field this IS the thing we all work with, but I won't respect it -NO I WON'T. Technology cannot be the limit of your imagination or creativity Hip-hop. In the case here, Queen Penn made some real nice coin for using a sample from a song produced in The Year of Our Lord nineteen Hundred and Seventy Six! Here ends my rant.
