Hardcore is style of music that uses heavy punk style riffs and"breakdowns" the style of singing has nothing to do with it's genre. Most bands were actually metal, but most people generalized the bands as hardcore because of the "hardcore scene" venues they played.

When we were doing this stuff back in the 80s and 90s we would have thrown up and killed your parents if we knew that you assholes were going to be sitting on the internet and arguing about what music we made. Believe in something and fight for what you will believe then pick up a guitar: you will then officially be the first new hardcore band since the 90s even if your music sounds like justin bieber(although if you know how to fight for what you believe in it definitely won't sound like that)

Earth Crisis is hardcore, I knew Carl and the rest of the guys. Hardcore is a bunch of bands who got together to sing about politics, bang on their guitars, and break shit. Earth Crisis was hardcore just like Youth of Today, Judge, Hatebreed and Earth Crisis. Those four bands sound different but they were all hardcore because they did the same things. Stop sitting there in your bed room listening to music mentally masturbating about what they are and go break shit, then you'll understand.

this is what i consider to be "northland metalcore"(not really a real subgenre) a'la refused, breach and to an extent raised fist. the cover is excellent and remember that hardcore/metalcore isn't supposed to be produced into what is heard on mainstream radio in the year of 2011..

@DeadboyandGravegirl They're sXe metalcore, not hardcore. Also, before you explode on me, metalcore used to be a really good genre until bands suck as Trivium and Asking Alexandria redefined it (in a negative way) with their shitty emocore/alt. metal crossover pop sound.
