At the time of course I didn't think anything of it, but looking back on videos like this one I think you can tell that Kris Wiechmann's heart was never truly with what the band stood for. I am not going to sit here and say he was a sell-out or whatever, in fact I applaud him for backing out on something he ultimately didn't believe in. Especially considering that the band did see success. I do hope he stays in touch with those guys, but he left the band almost 20 years ago now. It wouldn't surprise me if he is nothing but an asterisk in the band's history at this point.

It's funny, I've never so much as flirted with the idea of being either vegan or straight edge in all my life, but EC made me "get it." They were mediocre musicians, but their slick riffs were slick. Type of stuff made you want to randomly scissorkick some guy innocently smoking a cigarette, like, "you're the problem!"

@theserpentboy Not all new school hardcore bands are a mix of metal and hardcore, btw that mix is called metalcore, not Metallic Hardcore. Perhaps you thought Melodic Hardcore.
