When I hear this song, I imagine myself standing over my friend's grave and telling her about everything that's happened in the last 20 years since she passed away. I tell people about Michelle all the time and I truly think I loved her more than any girl I'd ever met in my entire life, except my precious child. I think it's why I'm still single. I've tried to fall that deeply in love again but if there's a woman out that measures up to the kind of girl Michelle was I'll be planning my wedding. I love and miss you Michelle and I wish you were still here.

this is another example of an unforgettable song from the eighties. my only question would be what were the writers thinking when they wrote it? whatever the reason, they had an incredible outcome, and they should be thanked for this great contribution to classic country music.
