I recently received a great comment regarding the difficulty of this tutorial as it pertains to kids. I will admit: this is a difficult song to learn the way I transcribed it, even for me. Why so? Please read my response about transcription vs. arrangement for further details. If you are interested in a simplified version, I have included links in the description for the sheet music and midi for this version. I removed all the elements I found to be difficult to learn myself. Hopefully you consider this version to be easier, or better yet, more manageable.Let me also share some advice to those wishing to learn this song. In both versions, perhaps the hardest part is playing accurately up to tempo. This song is actually kind of fast. To this, I say practice slowly, say 50% speed, gradually build up tempo, and isolate any group of measures that give trouble and practice it repetitively at different speeds. Another part that may be difficult is the overall swing rhythm of the song. To master this, try playing along with the original song at a slower speed to get the feel for the melody. For those learning this current version and struggling in some parts (and there are many I can point out), I feel your pain. I spent time each day for several days isolating each hard part and playing it over and over and over slowly and then trying to play the whole thing and then isolating the hard parts again. And when I decided to record my cover, it took an hour to get a take I was satisfied enough with (yet not perfect). Point is, be patient with the hard parts, and practice slowly each day for several days. If it still proves to be a challenge, that's perfectly understandable.Lastly, if you want to see tutorials for easy/easier/simplified versions of the Moana tutorials I have so far and have yet to upload, please let me know.
