And if you think this is Dvorak at his peak, listen to the finale from his first symphony. Amazing. And who can't forget his Cello Concerto, New World Symphony or the Symphonic Poem the Golden Spinning Wheel. Dvorak rocks! Such humble beginnings for a composer of such stature (his father a butcher and innkeeper). He was also very humble and a religious man.

In the realm of Great Conductor Hair, Meiji Ozawa is at the top of the list :)

He is the exact stereotype of a conductor I've seen in all my childhood cartoons! I'm so mind blown! I didn't think a conductor like him existed in real life. My mind just went

Has anyone noticed that the great European symphony orchestras on YouTube seem to be all male?  I believe I noticed only one female in this performance, a violinist who sat at the back of the string section.  She was never featured in a solo or group closeup so it's hard to say for sure.  The Berliner Philharmoniker under Klemperer is another example.  This video was uploaded over 6 years ago and the performance may have been years before that so you can't conclude anything about the modern European symphony orchestra.About Ozawa -- he's fascinating to watch.  Contrast him to the conductor with a baton and very traditional tempo marking with arm movements who addresses different sections of the orchestra by glances and head nods.  Ozawa is different and one of the more unorthodox of his type.  I don't see how musicians can precisely follow his direction, but performances like this one are conclusive evidence that they do.
