Good to see a fellow Hannett appreciator, I also agree this is one of his best. I don't know why Joy Division Unknown Pleasures is always cited as Hannett done far better stuff on Closer, Movement and with Basement 5.

@Enigmaticland he (Hannett) did the first album and a few bits and pieces for Factory Benelux such as "Madeleine"...... it is lovely music...and Vini is still making and releasing gorgeous stuff right now...check out "Paean To Wilson" from 2009/10//

This is imho one of Martin Hannett's finest productions. So sad he didn't produced the other Durutti Column material.

This was on a double vinyl Factory collection called "A Factory Quartet" (it featured a side apiece from DC, Blurt, Royal Family & The Poor and Kevin Hewick). The track was on the series of DC reissues around 10 years ago as an extra track on "LC" (along with the other 2 'Quartet' contributions) - I think those 3 pieces were some of his most interesting early works.
