Duo Datz - Come along (Eurovision Song Contest 1991 Israel) English Version

Tell me that cloudy days are over

Tell me that it's gonna be all right

Tell me I can wander in my green fields

And have the sunshine glowing in my eyes

Have the sunshine glowing in my eyes

Tell me the storm is gone forever

Tell me there's no thundering tonight

Tell me I can leave my door wide open

Come, my friend, I welcome you inside

Come, my friend, I welcome you inside

Come along, my friend

Come along and hold my hand

Love is all we need today to understand

Come, there's a chance today

To make a move, to change our ways

Let our hearts unite together, let's sing and pray

Tell me the desert is still yellow

Tell me the forest is still green

Tell me the lily is still mellow

Whiter than the white I've ever seen

Whiter than the white I've ever seen

Come along, my friend

Come along and hold my hand

Love is all we need today to understand

Come, there's a chance today

To make a move, to change our ways

Let our hearts unite together, let's sing and pray

Come

Come and say you'll stay by me tomorrow

Tell me that you'll need me by your side

Tell me there will be no pain and sorrow

And everything is gonna be all right

Yes, everything is gonna be all right

Come along, my friend

Come along and hold my hand

Love is all we need today to understand

Come, there's a chance today

To make a move, to change our ways

Let our hearts unite together, let's sing and pray

Come, there's a chance today

To make a move, to change our ways

Let our hearts unite together

Our hearts unite together

Come along, my friend

Come along and hold my hand

Love is all we need today to understand

Come, there's a chance today

To make a move, to change our ways

Let our hearts unite together, let's sing and pray

Come, there's a chance today

To make a move, to change our ways

Let our hearts unite together

Let's, let's sing and pray

"translation" is another song which has nothing to do with this btw beautiful song about being Jewish and Israeli.

I was expecting the English to be an actual translation of the hebrew version - which is an amazing song about being proud to be Israeli. Why did they re-write it? I love the hebrew lyrics and would have looked forward to seeing the english version. I think they tried to "mainstream" the song but lost the original flavour!

Even if I don't know Hebrew and I'm not a big fan of it, I love the Hebrew version. Is so awesome and catchy =D! Original version always better!

Verse 3 and the chorus is OK, but the rest of it is badly translated - prefer the Hebrew!

It's english because the song was part of Eurovision, they have to sing it in their national language and in english as a requirement...

The lyrics actually sound pretty good. I think that it's the accompaniment that really clashes with the words and makes the song sound worse than it really is.

It seriously sounds bad in English. Maybe I just got used to hearing it in Hebrew.
