Panic Attack bass master track - By John Myung (Dream Theater)

Fron Rock Band

Octavarium is the eighth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater. Released on June 7, 2005, it was the band's final release with Atlantic Records. Recorded between September 2004 and February 2005, the album holds the distinction of being the last album ever recorded at The Hit Factory in New York City. With Octavarium, the band decided to create "a classic Dream Theater album",[1] drawing upon their various stylistic influences while trying to make the music less complex. It was the first Dream Theater album to feature an orchestra on their tracks. The album's structure was based around the concept of the musical octave.

Octavarium peaked in the top five in the Finnish,[2] Italian,[3] and Swedish charts,[4] and in the top ten in the Dutch,[5] Japanese,[6] and Norwegian charts.[7] Critical reception of the album was generally positive; the diversity of the music was praised, although critics found some of the songwriting to be inconsistent. Dream Theater promoted the album on a year-long world tour, with the majority of concerts lasting almost three hours and featuring a different setlist each night. The tour finished at Radio City Music Hall accompanied by an orchestra; this performance was recorded and released as a live album and concert video entitled Score. They co-headlined the 2005 North American Gigantour with Megadeth.

I heard at least 4 punch-ins, some off timing that should not matter once the drums lock in. Way to much scooping from heavy finger pulls(at times) and low action which would also explain the fret buzz on the G and D frets 3-5. Sounds like Ernie Ball but not the fat neck with Super Jumbo frets.

for you noobies out there... this IS a mastered bass track. when you mix and master a track you cut out the frequencies which are not needed or reserved for other instruments. the bass drum needs space in the bass frequencies too...so when you are hearing only the bass track, it probably sounds like this....there is so many to say about this, but the most of you couldnt understand ...

By the way, into your curiosities do you have Dream Theater Ytse Jam bass session?

Wow! Certenly it sounds weird, I found months ago a session of hungry like the wolf in the Duran Duran bassist John Taylor and sucks, but all instruments toghether camuflaged the noises & bass mistakes. Nothing like a Studio mastering to sounding well.

The dynamics sound very ameturish and the attack is too inconsistent and lacks control. This isn't Myung. If you're going to post a cover, just take credit for it. Don't tell people you're Myung.
