@Angel Breeze, you should probably read the lyrics then ey. Hope is mainly about faith in things and how it is tried during your life. Heartbound is a few things, but the main message is open minded thinking and standing for your beliefs, even when everything else goes to shit.

When "Downfall" came out I thought I would hate the album. but after a while the cd grew on me. But I still give it a C+ mostly because of the recording style they used. It sounds "overproduced". The chugging guitar and electronic-sounding drumming kinda messes with their whole atmosphere. But once a band's changed their sound, I've yet to see any return to their roots. Just going to have to get used to this new style. . But yah, I don't think it's a train wreck of an album.

right, i've heard that before and i agree. it is a very trendy sound and rise has a habit of making bands cover a certain prototype. hopefully DO,D goes back to old ways in future but it's hard for me to see that happening. Hope is hands down my favorite of the 2, my only thing is that i don't think Heartbound was as bad as some people made it out tobe.

It's an ok album. However, it's difficult to listen to because of the way they recorded it and the constant breakdowning. It just makes them blend in with allot of other bands

that is a good point, i've never heard that angle about the differences between the two. makes a lot of sense.

The main difference is vocals. a lot of people (including myself) liked the less produced vocal sound. The not always perfect screams added a lot to the sincerity and emotions in each song on hope. While it still sounds great, the emotional connection I got from Hope is simply not found as much in Heartbound.
