Blue Cheer's Just a Little Bit from 1968 is heavier than this.The Stooges had heavier stuff out around the same time as this.Anyone who's shocked by this doesn't know the year 1969 very well.

That's why I said "first two yes". The third album he mentioned has nothing to do with the musicians from these two albums nor the style of music, despite having a slightly similar name and being on the same label. And he didn't actually say anything. He took it from some widely quoted short review that came from a list of rare records which was made a long time ago (which is probably why he used quotation marks). I was simply clarifying that it shouldn't be repeated anymore since it's worng.

@Meckipsychman Good call! Slightly a bit more in the blues-psyche hendrix category than hard stoner rock however. Wicked Lady 1968 with axeman cometh another contender is hard rock pre zep and sabbath but more metal than stoner.
