First in my "Then And Now" series:

Watch the (1961) version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNh0u0iLDG0&feature=related

either before or after watching this 2007 version I snatched from "Later With Jools" 23 Nov 2007.

Either way the combination is inspirational. For my money the modern version is much more polished and professional. It has balls. And we'd all like to think our 68 year old selves will be able to outperform our 22 year olds...

A sickening attempt at singing (and a lame remembering the lyrics). And to think it was recorded to agonize over again at a later date.

Here's my take on the 'oldies but goodies' 50's, 60's & 70's...and I was around then....We have reached an age that has caught up with us.....Can't be 20 forever as much I'd love that to be true.....sometimes looks aren't what they once were....sometimes we just need to realize that our expectations of another person may not be what reality gives us...and maybe Dion decided he got tired of singing the same old song the same old way....I liked this version.................

I love Dion. But I think it's fair to say that this version is something that would appeal to him only. Having said that, he did a blues version of it recently that was WAY slowed down and it rocked.

Are you sure its Dion ?, crumbs the tempo is so slow its destroying one of the greatest songs of the 60s.If your going to recreate one of your biggest hits at least give the audience something to boogy to, not send them to sleep. Its not often that i vote down one of the biggest names of the 1960s but Dion your time is up.

Wow its really interesting to see how he turned out. I wouldn't know it was the same guy. It sounds so different from the original but I like it, his voice is different but has another quality to it now, still really good.

I'm not sure you guys understand how blues singing works. You purposefully lag behind the beat and sound "gruff." Listen to his tone at 1:40. That's ridiculously awesome.

Dion performs many variations of the Wanderer, I have heard 5 or 6. He hasn't lost a beat. Some of the versions I like some I don't. That's why they sell vanilla and chocolate. This one is awesome.
