That is incorrect my dear, in patti's autobiography, she notes that she loved the song so much that she and the bluebelles just sang it a lot in their apollo and brooklyn fox theater performances. One night while performing she got a telegram from dinah who was performing down the street. The message read, STOP SINGING MY DAMN SONG! Patti was only 19 at this point in time in 1963.
