Their songwriting was definitely at its peak on this album; it's a shame they were never able to top it. I'm not sure about during live performances, but Shagrath's vocals had a lot of effects on the studio version of this song and the rest from that album. In fact, for me it's the one complaint I had about that album, since the vocals had too many effects and were too high high in the mix. I always thought he was a sub par black metal vocalist to be honest.
