Ok here goes . .the reasons that this band didn't really rise to any substantial success is as follows . .1, it was all a bit too late, the long haired rock star posing . .Led Zepp and others had done that to death . .2, the fact that the singer announced to the world at the time that they were or wanted to be the 'new' Led Zeppelin ( oh how we laughed at that one ) and lastly for now . .their material just wasn't that good or interesting enough . .I saw them live in the midlands back in the early 80's, and thought, haven't they got something new to offer the rock world ?? answer . .nope !! I do think they tried hard, but maybe trying too hard to emulate their heroes just wasn't the right move . .it just wasn't their time . .thats it in a nutshell.

Well, what can I say. There were other bands that invented The NWOBHM, but Diamond Head perfected it.The fact that no one plays music this good anymore is simply lamentable.

You aren't kidding man. It's hard to believe that even with bad management these guys didn't make it huge. The "Lightning to the Nations" album was one of the rare albums where every single song is epic. To me that album is for late 70s metal what Led Zeppelin IV was to early 70s hard rock..
