About as weird as Finnish death metal can get. Demilich abandons all semblance of conventional melody and harmony in return for incredibly fucked up dual riffs. The vocals on this record are the best belching vocals you'll ever hear, and way better than all those slam/deathcore vocalists we see nowadays. Funfact: The title of this album - Nespithe, Ne spi the, the spi ne, The Spine!

this stuff is great, like a good majority of finnish death metal, but the vocals have always irritated me. you would think after a while of listening you wouldn't care, and that is true to extent... it just makes me sad to think that those "belching vocals" weren't put to minimum use and a more traditional approach was used for the majority of passages. as it is, i think an 8.5/10 or 9/10 is in order, though10 years ago
