Off the 2008 album Diminishing Between Worlds

Line-up:

KC Howard - drums

Matt Sotelo - all guitars, bass, keyboards, backing vocals

Bill Robinson - vocals

Lyrics:

Ascending I look down upon the lucid dream I leave behind the division of thought that evolved two suns echoing throughout all world fragments of life.

Separation of being from flesh I transcend back to thought.

The origin of all, Subconsciousness...

Ancient memories Re-emerge

To be lost again, to discover that I am Self

To see behind the shadows of illusion from within the earths.

I touch the heavens reflecting opposite thought

They speak to me, words of vast illusions, the inner and outer worlds, all mirroring creation

Containing all in existence, infinite worlds of relative energies

Intricate balance of oppositions, repeating patterns of complex detail

And self variation

Infinitely

And I am the essence

Engulfed in the light

Universe through unity, all memories diminished.

1:35 is so damn epic, you can clearly hear Death's influence in there!

The first solo has a Schuldiner-esque sound to it. I also caught a riff in there similar to one off of Mentally Blind on Individual Thought Patterns. Most of these TDM bands will site Death as a major influence on their music.

The artwork on the cover of this album really reminds me of the artwork on Warbringer's "Waking into Nightmares" album.

I hate how there are literally no guitar pro tabs for this song.

I am completely and utterly glad I got to know this band. And yes, you can clearly hear late-Death's influence here. Being an undying fan of Death, it only makes sense that I love Decrepit Birth's work as well. I one day hope to see them live :)

Actually this is true.Back when Matt was 16-17 many of the riffs he wrote from that era make up Diminishing Between Worlds because when Decrepit Birth first started the style was WAY more brutal so it didn't fit but now that they went a bit more melodic it fit perfectly.
