I remember this so well. (It was after Eddie Fisher left Debbie for Elizabeth Taylor) A meaningful bunch of lyrics that didn't need an Einstein to figure out!

As a young teenage boy I had a Hollywood crush on Debbie. This song always reminded me of what a fool I thought Eddie was. (Careful not to judge. Many years later I would make the same mistake in my life.) Sorry I was so harsh on you Eddie.

In Carrie's one woman show called Wishful Drinking she talks of a discussion with Debbie about her mother's 3 marriages, and how husband number 3 was strange and number 2 went through his money and then hers. Debbie then declares, "You know, I think Eddie was the good one." Eddie was the best singer I've ever heard and Debbie has such a range of talent, that no other performer can match. And an incredible sense of humor and wit. Watch her old What's My line? appearances on youtube.

Her answer to that rat Eddie Fisher who left her for Liz Taylor. Bad move Eddie.
