If you think about it, Willie is a total jerk in this song. He pretends to go away for like seven years and then he dresses like an old guy and says MARY YOUR HUSBAND DIED and she's like oh darn and then he's like I LIED I am actually Willie. If I was Mary I would be all like bro that was so uncool I hate you now so go away. Beautiful song, though. I love Mary Dillon's voice. Someone should tell them to make more albums.

Please watch this song in the version of the band "Lothlórien" ...can somebody probably tell me the link between these two bands? it is more than obvious that one of these made his version in close relation to the other. my question: wich one was first? hopefully deanta, because from a well-known band as they are, i expected a more independent arrangement of the song.

This song I have been seeking for ages, I heard it Mike Hardings radio show and was so struck, now thanks to you Ang for posting, eventually I get to listen and enjoy. I had missed out on Deanta, having left Ireland before it all, but Mary Dillon just touches my soul and this song is her definitive one for me. Just a joy! xxx
