i love this song and it reminds me of my big brother he didn't go to war or anything like that but at the line freedom makes it hard to live when it takes things from you that you don't want to give if you replace freedom with alcohol that would really remind me of my brother.

Dean is indeed from Canada. In fact, he and his family live in the village of Chester, about 45 minutes from my home in Nova Scotia. As you said though, the song is a fantastic tribute to soldiers from all countries taking care of business for their home country here and overseas. God bless them all.
