It's a little disappointing that instead of the MUSIC we are discussing drugs...but, since we are: Peyote, yage, shrooms, most psychadelics were originally used as a way to enter the spirit world, as OCCASIONAL trips through the gate from the mundane world to the world of the spirits and gods. They were not just joy trips or ways to escape the stresses of everyday life. Treat them as sacraments. Anything that provides pleasure and escape is tempting to overuse.

I agree with you that it depends on the conditions, and many people including myself have had profound experiences with them, and others not so much. psychedelic means is "mind-manifesting", and what manifests depends on the situation. But you could have experiences that are just as profound by looking inward with meditation. Don't take this the wrong way but from my experience drug use seems to be a lazy way to have a profound experience, you could do it sober it just takes practice.

Don't have such a negative view of drugs, psychedelics, when done under the right conditions, can be an amazing, profound experience, I definitely noticed a change in how I talked and treated people after my first shrooms trip, it just kind of made me see things from a different perspective. Its like sex: Its great, just be careful

I wouldn't recommend ANY drugs to ANYONE. Some can't tell bad acid from good acid, or if what they're taking is even acid. So many of my friends have thrown away their futures because they did acid, and if that's their path then they have a right to follow it. And I may not be a prophet, but no amount of drugs, acid especially will make me one. And honestly if I could change the past I never would have done any drugs to begin with, it just causes problems and I've lost so many friends to drugs.

My advice is to stay away from lsd. It's such a passe drug, it was fun in the short run but not so much in the long run. If you have to trip stay away from chemicals, shrooms are much safer
