Coverdale did a good job but the music to this was kinda lame for a song like this. Had he done this with another soulful type rendition it would be 10x better

Coverdale's just brilliant on this... Over the years this track's mainly been done by women... Janis Joplin, Bette Midler etc etc... but he really tears it up here... great stuff! David Coverdale's every bit the singer Robert Plant, Paul Rodgers or Ronnie Jammes Dio ever were.

I have followed Mr. Coverdales music since I was 15 , he is a wonderful musician and song writer would love to shake his hand one day and thank him for all the bad times his music has brought me through

Was never a Snake fan, but if I had a voice like Coverdale's, me troubled would be over.

God's teeth - there's only ONE version of this classic worth having and that's the original by Lorraine Ellison. The rest only recorded it after the (yawn) "serious rock press" and the likes of John Lennon cited it as worthy of their precious attention (while typically ignoring her other great songs - not to mention Linda Jones, Betty Lavette, Rozetta Johnson et.al.).
