The concert tour he did where the young girl died was his World Tour that he left for on the final day of filming on PF and he was planning on an early retirement right after and then unfortunately the tragedy occured which no doubt had an affect on him. He did record 3 albums all in '75 and '76 but did not tour to promote them but also his father died around this time.

I knew David, he not only lost alot financially because of the contracts he had originally signed screwed him out of alot of money. Technically he even was to suppose to sing on the show, until the producers realized he could actually sing, but to make him sound more appealing to the targeted audience for the show they altered his voice to sound more youger. He did start his comeback on his own and was doing quite well until a young girl died at one of his concerts. He had a nervous breakdown.
