tin machine is a classy beast. its bowie coming to terms with rock n roll after glam/new wave. its looking into a post sonic youth future. its music for gentlemen who like stooges and martinis in equal measure. most of the lyrics on this album are of the "we're all going to die, the world is a shit hole" variety, which was common in 1989. but this song is pure hope, romance through the eyes of someone who's maybe seen too much. "life's still a dream, your love's amazing".

Almost has that U2 feel!! Seems like David Bowie can play everything that any rocker played before!! Plus since I am studying vocal music I actually have Davids voice!!

I was even smarter, I listened to all three of them. Guns N Roses, Metallica and Tin Machine/David Bowie. I was ten when this came out.

Bafflingly Tin Machine were widely ridiculed in the music press of the day. Saw them at Brixton Academy - lots of punters sporting "Fuck You, I love Tin Machine' T shirts. Great gig.

Me too, man. Always a Bowie fan. Tin machine has many great songs like "Pretty" and "Under the God"...

"My nightmare Rooted here watching you go Dividing both our lives" which makes a lot of sense to me, whereas the usual rendition of those lyrics do not.
