When I first saw and heard this song I could hardly believe it, such a great sound, superb song and perfect combination of David Bowie's voice with the sound of Win Butler, the imposant singer of The Arcade Fire. I LOVE THIS SONG, it could be one of Bowie's best songs, if not it was an Arcade Fire song!

It gives me the same shivers I get when listening to Bowie's Heroes or (a little less) to Never Get Old, from Bowie's last album Reality. And songs of Zaine Griff like Flowers, The Scandinavian and others.

The setting and the Hall where they play is great and the sound is good. Special thing not many people noticed is that paintings of Bowie are projected on the screens on the walls.

The Arcade Fire is one of the best bands that make music in the Bowie tradition - it's surely not a coïncidence they are here together with David Bowie on stage,

They admire Bowie and Bowie admires them and the interaction during this special stage-performance is really perfect to my opinion. Together with TV On The Radio - another band somewhat connected to Bowie (Bowie made them known and supported them as well as sang on two of their first recorded songs) The Arcade Fire is for me the best band I heard in the past decade.

The Arcade Fire is based in Montreal, Canada and beside Win Butler his wife Regine Chassagne plays in it, along with Will Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tum Kingsbury, Jeremy Gara and Sarah Neufield. The band plays many intruments with such fanatic enthousiasm I've never seen before!

They use guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, viola, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin and something I don't know, but what is called hurdy-gurdy!

The band takes most of their instruments always on tour and the multi-instrumentalist band members switch their instruments in great speed during the songs - as can well be seen in this video.

The Arcade Fire won numerous awards, including Meteors 2008 Best International Album, Juno Award 2008 and Alternative Album of the Year Award for Neon Bible. And two Grammy Awards, for Funeral (2005) and for Neon Bible (2008). In 2010 they released their third album The Suburbs with a lot of success to music critics and also to the public, receiving nominations for Grammy (Best Alternative Album ánd Album of the Year.

They are very original, still especially at the end of the song the speed of sound and the wild mix of instruments remind me of an old English folk band called Dexy's Midnight Runners, yet (is that a coïncidence?!) another band Bowie admired (having been a folksinger himself in his early years) and Bowie even sang with them on one of their albums, decades ago.

To me the combination with David Bowie sounds perfect and it's hard to believe this appearance was hardly one year after Bowie suddenly was forced do discontinue his long Reality 2003/2004 tour after serious heart problems, but the medicines left traces to his body and his face as he gained a lot of weight caused by the medicines.

The sound of The Arcade Fire is very special, I think there's only one band like them. I wish Bowie would make a whole album with them,that would be awesome!

The publics reaction is a bit weird to this explosion of power and enthousiasm! I guess they're not Bowie or Arcade Fire fans, just people being there and watching, but during the song everyone is finally infected with the enthousiasm and after the song they get a BIG applause!

There are also three Bowie songs recorded in the same set during this concert. They are ALL worth listening to!
