I bought this album when it first came out and this was one of my favorite tracks...but I never knew it was a cover song!

It's worth mentioning that this song features Bowie's lowest vocal note. In the recording, his voice dips all the way down to G1, a record that is only topped by Barry White at F#1, and Axl Rose at F1.

I prefer Normans version of Gemini Spacecraft. So is that also why Bowie made sure that The Ledge was a featured artist at Meltdown 2002. Well I think Bowie is both bemused by and appreciates Norman. The Ledge made a big impact in the mid sixties appearing on Laugh In and many other major American TV variety shows. Perhaps the unknown Davy Jones was touched by the spectacle. It was awesome. I saw it. I class it up there with Jimi Hendrix's 1st appearance on British TV. Jaw Dropping!

Oh come on, Bowie didn't "get him" If you listen to him talk about in interviews he thought (as he should ) Legendary Stardust Cowboy was a whack job. He covered this tune because Bowie made a name for himself using his last name with Ziggy. He had heard LSC mention that Bowie should compensate him somehow because of that so as a kind gesture he covered one of his tunes so LSC would receive money from his writing credits. There`s not much more to it than that.

Love this studio version of this tune. Love you can understand every word he sings (So important to me the lyrics + score go together + if mumbling is done 'scratch.' ;-))) Yep. Love David Bowie. I just had shared with me a beautiful version where the band members could be seen sharing the l-o-v-e of this fun song. There was a bassist Gail Ann Dorsey that knocked my socks off as she joined David and the rest in splendor. Took me awhile to find out who she was. She added "Greatness too." XO ;)

Can I just say to anyone who gave up on Bowie in the 90s or earlier. Please invest in Heathen and Reality. His voice became really 'ooh' in the noughties, and the songs he wrote/covered were quite 'yeah'.
