The reason Frank was not n stage was that this was DB's 50th birthday celebration. So yes,I would say that both these artists are good friends, as well as sharing a mutual respect for each others music down the years. Other artists who played that evening included, Robert Smith (The Cure) and Billy Corrigan (Smashing Pumpkins?) Worth checking out too! Lastly,I wonder what it must be like to view a comment you have made, 5 or so down the line, when you have said something really mean or horrible to someone just because they did not share your own view regarding musical differences? It must be so embarrassing and even worse, if person you live with finds it and recognised it was your own pathetic and immature words played bare for all to see.

Its funny how most people posting here only know about David or Black. There are too many arguments and naive observations. People commenting on Black "just standing there" or "getting off the stage in a hurry" have never watched Pixies perform live. That is him to a "T". Pixies are one of my favorite acts of all time and so is Bowie but the Pixies with few exceptions are dead fish on stage. They sound like they would be tearing the place to pieces but they simply stand and deliver.
