AWESOME !!!!

rough beginning for Dave vocally, but he eventually nailed it. But, I do not understand what the **** the sound guy was thinking to give Tim Reynolds that much volume.

Dave Matthews is a genius! He's gonna change the way we think about doing Peter Gabriel covers...

Best version ever. I don't care if that version doesn't the same of original. That version is original, a DMB's version!!!

I'm surprised they didn't make out sound better. The guitar needs to go our change effects

That guitar tone is really ruining the cover. It's too loud, sounds blatty, and removes the vibe.

I agree it sounds horrible. This is a bad example of when bandmates are too democratic or just too passive. Can't believe no one in the band told him that tone absolutely sucks in this song...

I agree with you there that they're not quite swinging it right but what's really killing it is Tim Reynolds horrible chainsaw tone which to make it worse is way too high in the mix. I like Dave's vocal he's paying homage but still being Dave...

He's a great guitarist and all, but Dave Matthews band is being ruined by Tim's guitar sound here. It's just terrible :(

Regardless, my opinion remains the same. This version removes much of what made the original so good. And I love DMB.

inde rocker

You have to remember that this recorded while LeRoi Moore was re-hospitalized due to complications from his ATV accident. I'm sure Carter and everyone else in the band for that matter, were more worried about their friend pulling through, rather than "nailing" a cover.

this is a cover. its up to the artists own style on how they want to do the song. This does not make either version better or worse then the other it just makes them both unique.

I love Beauford as a drummer, but he's not swingin. It sounds wrong. Also, the bass player, forgot his name, hasn't got the part on lockdown like Levin. He's not doing the embellishments.

Big fan of PG Sledgehammer. Loved this cover BUT the overused overemphasiezed creative rhythm guitar ....don't think so it sounds right to me ...
