I'm a native Michigander and grew up on the Seger version, but I love Edmunds' version. Makes a good segue with Crawlin' from the Wreckage.

Eddie and the Hot Rods good live version, also. Bob Seger gets the top props fer writin it in my book...Great Song right in Dave's wheelhouse!!

Blues Traveler also did it for some movie soundtrack. I put this, that one and Bob's studio version in my Seger playlist! Thanks for uploading!

Both Seger's & this version of Dave's came out on a 45.....and neither of them did well on the charts. Too bad, 'cuz they BOTH rock!!

It's good but it's only better if you like Dave Edmunds more than Bob Seger

I don't understand how anyone can say this is "better" than Seger. He didn't change it in any way from Bob's original. It's a competent karaoke version of the original with less powerful vocals.

Seger after 1980 was Pop Rock.

I can't call Seger the best living rocker becasue he abandoned his early sound of REAL Rock and Roll for commercial Pop Rock success...listen to PRE "Night Moves" if you want REAL Rock and Roll by Seger.

Absolute, utter perfection! Not that one record needs to compete with another, but Edmunds' version of Get Out Of Denver absolutely walks all over the Bob Seger original (and with all due respect to Seger, who definitely had his own such moments). The lead off cut from Edmunds' 1977 monster classic Get It LP, which was Blitz Magazine's pick for Best Album of the 1970s. Love it!!!

He doesn't even know the lyrics; "get out of Denver, baby?" Get out of Denver, better get out of Denver, better go.

Too much nasal whining... Bob sings it much better. The guitar work rocks tho.
